About Us
“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.” - John Wesley
Our story is not your typical story about someone who dreamed they would one day become a photographer and build a dynasty. On the contrary, our photography ministry was born out of great adversity.
Netty Daniel Photography was birthed in 2007 while we resided on our farm in North Central Texas. What was originally building towards a life of fulfilled dreams in a luxurious retirement home built on acreage, consequently became a season of tremendous heartache and insurmountable loss.
While being forged through the fires of adversity, we eventually found ourselves awakened with a spiritual growth and a divine intervention by GOD that could come no other way and would change us forever. Our lives had been seeped in materialism that was built on career and self driven goals. Now we found ourselves like Jacob at the well wrestling with our flesh while answering the call to sanctification.
The camera went from an instrument used as a hobby on our land capturing the beauty of nature that surrounded us to a tool that GOD would use to put our focus outwardly as we ministered to others. Over the years Netty wrestled with taking the photography from wildlife to people. It forced her out of her comfort zone to a public exposure very in contrast with her nature.
One of the most divine moments was while we were still living in an old trailer and Netty had been asked to photograph a group of brothers who were playing golf during a family reunion. One of the brothers came to our trailer later in the day and knocked on our door. He went to hand Netty cash and her response was "No, I'm not really a professional photographer." The man of GOD stood there and reached out with cash and said to her "When you get paid for your work you are a professional." That seed and the ministry received from this man and his wife that day was instrumental in Netty answering the call.
Photography can be a very competitive, ego driven profession. You take a portrait of a beautiful person in a beautiful setting and the ego wants to thump its chest and proclaim "Look what I have created!" It is very important as Christians that we acknowledge the true Creator and that all glory is given to Him. It is also important that we be good stewards of the incredible gifts and opportunities we have in time spent with those we photograph. John Wesley said it well in the quote above.
We are so humbled and grateful for all of those who come to us for their portraits. Many of them have imparted into our hearts and lives along the way . All things working together for His glory.
